
Softball Bested at #3 Oregon

EUGENE, Ore. – Michigan State softball was officially eliminated from Big Ten Tournament Contention on Saturday afternoon falling to No. 3-ranked Oregon, 14-0, from Jane Sanders Stadium.
MSU moves to 16-27 (6-15 B1G) while #3 Oregon improves to 46-6 (18-3). The final game of the series will be televised nationally on Big Ten Network at 4:00 p.m. ET on Sunday.
Freshman Carsyn Cassady (3-4), sophomore Ava Mullen, senior Madison Taylor, senior Faith Guidry and freshman Ella Cunningham all pitched for the Spartans. Cassady and Mullen tied for the longest circle stints at 1.2 innings each.
Junior Kaelin Cash, freshman Ava Coffinger and senior Jenae Was all tallied base hits with singles. Senior Collette Allen and sophomore Kendall Smiley each drew walks.
Oregon scored 14 runs on 13 hits and five walks. The Ducks scored three runs in each of the first two innings, adding two runs in the third and six runners crossed home plate in the fourth.
Junior outfielder Sydney Doloszycki had a strong day defensively in center field making a pair of web gem plays highlighted by a home run robbery in the sixth inning.
