A win improves Michigan State's overall record to 18-30, while Oakland falls to 22-17. The Spartans will conclude the regular season this weekend in West Lafayette, Ind. meeting Purdue with a trip to the 2024 B1G Tournament on the line.
Senior Liv Grey (12-13) was masterful in the circle striking out eight Golden Grizzlies in four innings of work. Grey allowed just two hits and walked none in a nearly perfect outing. Junior Faith Guidry combined for the shutout, earning a strikeout in the fifth and final inning.

MSU's offense saw the ball well all night with four Spartans tallying multi-hit performances. Sophomore Hannah Hawley, senior Anna Fox, junior Macy Lee and junior Mik Anthony all had two hits on Wednesday. Senior Alexis Ross and sophomore Sydney Doloszycki each tripled. Anthony slugged her first Spartan home run to drive in a pair in the fourth.

Doloszycki, Lee, Anthony and Ross all finished with two RBI, while Hawley and sophomore Britain Beshears drove in one. Fox stole her sixth base of the season and was brought home to score three times.
Michigan State got going early when back-to-back singles led off the first inning. A two-out double by Lee put the Spartans ahead 2-0, a lead they would hold throughout the remainder of the contest. MSU took advantage of an Oakland error with two out in the third to lead 3-0.

The Spartan offense batted around the order and broke out for eight runs in the fourth. Anthony led-off the inning with a single and finished the scoring with a two-run homer in the same frame. With two in scoring position, Ross went away from her traditional slap hitting and cleared the bases with a triple to right. Ross was brought home when Hawley singled through the left side in the ensuing at-bat.

After Fox's second single of the day put two on, Doloszycki followed with MSU's second triple of the inning to put the Spartans ahead 8-0. A Beshears ground out brought Doloszycki in to score. Lee's infield single put one on for Anthony, who sent the ball over the fence in straight-away center for her first Spartan long ball.
