Ann Arbor, Mich. - Michigan State field hockey fell to No. 9 Michigan, 8-0, Sunday afternoon at Ocker Field.
Sophomore goalkeeper Jade Arundell finished the contest with a career-high 15 saves for the Spartans, while freshman defender Nienke Bloemsaat collected her third defensive save of the season. Sophomore Aisha Osinga tallied MSU's lone shot in the first period.
Arundell moves her season save total to 93 for MSU.Â
The Wolverines outshot the Spartans, 35-1 in the contest. UM finished with 15 penalty corners to zero for Michigan State.
Michigan compiled four goals in each half and were led by Sofia Southam who recorded a hat trick in the Spartan loss. UM finished the contest with eight assists on 24 shots on goal.

MSU returns to action this Friday, Oct. 11 when they play host to Ohio. Game time is slated for 3 p.m. at Ralph Young Field.
