EAST LANSING, Mich. – Michigan State track & field team will travel to Ann Arbor for the 2026 Len Paddock Open as the final regular season tune-up before entering the postseason. The 2026 Len Paddock Open will be a one-day event occurring on Friday, May 8.
LAST TIME OUT FOR THE SPARTANS
Michigan State enters the weekend coming off a dominant performance at the Jesse Owens Classic in Columbus, Ohio, where they secured eight event titles and rewrote the program's record books. The Spartans' prowess in the field events was the story of the weekend, particularly in the hammer throw. Elle Adrian and Xavier Griffiths both moved into the No. 2 spot on MSU's all-time list with first-place finishes; Adrian notched a personal best of 61.20m, while Griffiths topped the podium with a 65.92m toss.
The momentum continued in the throws as Dalton DeBeau claimed the men's discus title and Dillon Morlock led a 1-2 Spartan finish in the shot put with a winning mark of 19.87m. Tess Roman added to the field event haul by capturing the women's javelin title, while Carter Bissell headed another 1-2 finish for Michigan State in the men's long jump.
The excellence for the Green & White extended to the vertical jumps and the track. Brady Schultz cleared a personal-best 2.18m in the high jump to win the event and move into third place in Spartan history. On the track, Timothy Cherry paced the men's 800m field with a personal-best time of 1:48.65, the No. 4 all-time performance at MSU. Â
