 EAST LANSING, Mich. – Michigan State's indoor track & field team returns to action for the third consecutive weekend in a trio of meets this weekend. Select distance runners and sprinters will travel to compete at the David Hemery Valentine Invitational held in Boston, Massachusetts, and the GVSU Big Meet held in Allendale, Michigan, with both meets on Feb. 13-14. The remaining multi-athletes will be competing at the Heartland Invitational on Feb. 13-14 in Indianapolis, Indiana.

LAST TIME OUT:
Michigan State is coming off successful performances at the Michigan Invitational where six first-place titles were obtained by Spartans. On the women's side of things, Elle Adrian won the women's weight throw with a throw of 22.15m, with fellow teammate Rylan Finstrom closely behind finishing in fourth place with a throw of 17.78m. Finstrom also finished third in the women's shot put with a throw of 16.11m, securing two top five finishes on the weekend. Sophia Mettes finished fourth in the women's pole vault with a season best vault of 4.08m, which was .02m from Mettes'Â personal best throw.
On the men's side of the action, graduate student Logan Allen won the 60m hurdles with a Michigan Invitational meet record time of 7.79. In the men's 60m dash, sophomore Cameron Cheetam, and Jeremy Dixon both qualified for MSU, with Cheetam winning the event with a new personal-best time of 6.77, which is the fifth fastest time in MSU men's history. Senior Adam Blue won the men's pole vault with a new personal-best vault of 5.31m, which is sixth best in MSU men's history. Brothers Dillion and Colby Morlock took the top two spots on the podium in the men's shot put. Dillion won the event with a throw of 18.97, while Colby was one spot behind his brother with a throw of 18.46m. In the men's weight throw the Spartans had three finishes inside of the top five. Junior thrower Xaiver Griffiths won the event with a throw of 19.90m, but teammates Dalton DeBeau and Dillion Morlock finished close behind Griffiths, with DeBeau finishing in third with a throw of 19.94, and Morlock finishing in fourth with a new personal-best throw of 18.10m.

GVSU Big Meet Schedule:
Friday, February 13th:
For the green and white, the GVSU Big Meet will begin at 12:22 p.m. with the women's 800m open. Adit Dau will be the loan Spartan competing in the women's 800m open. MSU will have a three-hour break in between events, with the next event with Spartans competing starting at 3:20 p.m. The men's mile open begins at 3:20 p.m., with distance runner Kyle Eberhard set to compete. Following the conclusion of the men's mile open, the women's 3000m open will begin at 5:30 p.m. Megan Germain will represent the Spartans. Following the women's 300m, the women's mile invite will begin, with the duo of Anjali Kidambi and Mia Rogan slated to run for MSU. The men's mile invite will begin at 7:26 p.m. with a fivesome slated to compete for the Spartans. Jasper Cane, Owen Gilbert, Gage Killewald, Brady McArdle, and Matthew Schroff will be the five competing for the green and white. The women's and men's 3000m invite will begin the final events of the evening, with the women's 3000m invite beginning at 8:13 p.m., and the men's 3000m invite starting at 8:25 p.m. For the women's 3000m invite, the Spartans will send Megahn Beute, Morgan Brown, Ella Christensen, and Taylor Ewert out to compete. In the men's 3000m, Evan Loughridge will be the loan Spartan to represent MSU.

The finals of all the running events will begin at 10:00 a.m. on a rolling schedule. The finals will conclude with the women's and men's mile run.

The Heartland Invitational begins on Friday, February 13th at 12:15 p.m. with the women's weight throw. Throwers Rylan Finstrom and Margret Jones will be the two Spartans competing in the women's weight throw. Following the women's weight throw, the next event with Spartans slated to compete in is the men's and women's long jump invite, which begins at 1:10 p.m. In the women's long jump, Leila Barmore is the lone Spartan representing MSU. In the men's long jump, MSU will send the duo of Andrew Harding and Carter Bissell out to compete. At 2:30 p.m., the women's 60m hurdles will begin with Tess Roman as the only Spartan competing. The men's 60m hurdle trials begin at 3:10 p.m. with Logan Allen and Dylan Terryberry set to compete for the green and white. Thrower Elle Adrian will compete in the women's weight throw invite, which begins at 3:30 p.m. In the 60m trials, sprinter Gabrielle Jeffries will represent MSU. Dylan Terryberry will be the only Spartan competing in the men's long jump. At 5:15 p.m., the men's weight throw invite begins with thrower Xaiver Griffiths set to compete. Following the men's weight throw, at 6:00 p.m., the men's pole vault invite, and women's high jump are slated to begin. In the men's pole vault, MSU will be represented by Landon Cosby. In the women's high jump, the Spartans will send Tess Roman and Korin Whitcomb out to compete for the green and white. The finals of the men's weight throw will begin at 6:45 p.m. Dillion Morlock and Dalton DeBeau qualified and will be the two Spartans competing. Noah Sage and Alex Yon will be the Spartans duo competing in the men's 600m, which begins at 7:35 p.m. In the women's 400m, which begins at 8:30 p.m, the Spartans will be represented by Alexys Wilson and Elizabeth Anderson. In the final event of the evening, the men's 400m, which begins at 9:05 p.m., MSU will have Noah Sage and Alex Yon competing.

The Heartland Invitational will resume action at 9:30 a.m. with the women's shot put and men's high jump. In the women's shot put, Tess Roman, Margret Jones, and Rylan Finstrom will compete for MSU. Dylan Terryberry will be the loan Spartan to compete in the men's high jump. An hour later, the women's triple jump invite will begin at 10:30 a.m., with Leila Barmore set to compete for the green and white. Following the women's triple jump invite, the Spartans will move to women's pole vault invite, with Natalie Blake and Sophia Mettes slated to compete, with the event beginning at 11:30 a.m. The women's 200m begins at 12:20 p.m. with the trio of Gabrielle Jeffries, Alexys Wilson, and Elizabeth Anderson competing for the green and white. Following the women's 200m is the men's 200m, beginning at 1:05 p.m. MSU will have Jeremy Dixon, Cameron Cheetam, Drew Novak, Andrew Harding and Carter Bissell set to compete.

At 1:50 p.m., the men's shot-put invite begins with brothers Dillion and Colby Morlock, both scheduled to throw. In the men's shot-put finals, Dylan Terryberry has already qualified and will compete for MSU beginning at 3:00 p.m. In the final invitational event of the meet, the men's high jump will begin at 2:45 p.m., with Brady Shultz competing for the Spartans. The Heartland Invitational will conclude with the men's and women's 4x400m relay beginning at 4:00 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. In the women's 4x400m relay, MSU will send the team of Alexys Wilson, Gabrielle Jeffries, Korin Whitcomb, and Elizabeth Anderson out to compete for the Spartans. The men will send Noah Sage, Cameron Cheetam, Drew Novak, and Alex Yon out for the 4x400m relay.

Friday's action for the Spartans at the David Hemery Valentine Invitational begins with mile open, beginning at 1:20 p.m. Timothy Cherry will be the loan MSU athlete to represent the green and white in the 1 Mile open. Following the mile open, the Spartan men will have a have a three-hour window in between events, with the 3000m invite beginning at 4:20 p.m. Andrew Nolan is slated to compete in the 3000m invite. After the conclusion of the 3000m, the meet will move over to the 5000m invite, beginning at 4:30 p.m., with it being the final event of the evening for MSU. The Spartans will send the trio of Parker Lambers, Jack Pennewell, and Michael Hegarty out to compete in the 5000m invite.

Saturday's action for the lady Spartans kicks off with the 800m open, beginning at 10:42 a.m. Sydnee Sinn will be the single athlete competing for the green and white. Following the conclusion of the 800m open, MSU will have a three-hour break between events. At 1:30 p.m., the mile open will begin, with graduate distance runner Olivia Millen, Sarah Forsyth, and Madison Osterberg as the Spartan trio competing. At 5:10 p.m., the 3000m open will begin, with distance runners Rachel Forsyth, Sophia Lucki, Taylor Pangburn, Allison Cornell, and Madison Osterberg set to compete for MSU. The meet will conclude following the 5000m open, which begins at 7:10 p.m. Rachel Forsyth, Taylor Pangburn, and Paige Marchant will be the Spartan trio of distance runners out to compete. Â
