Softball Defeated by #25 Ohio State in Series Finale

The Spartans move to 9-15 (1-6 B1G) on the season while Ohio State improves to 25-6-1 (5-1 B1G). MSU is back in action at home on Wednesday, March 26 hosting Central Michigan for a 5:00 p.m. contest.
Freshman Jacey Schuler (5-8) started in the circle for MSU with sophomore Ava Mullen, senior Faith Guidry, senior Madison Taylor and freshman Carsyn Cassady also seeing action. Cassady was superb in relief late in the game registering four strikeouts on one Buckeye hit over 1.2 innings pitched.

Michigan State tallied three hits with all coming in the fifth inning. Senior Macy Lee broke MSU's hitless stretch with a double down the left field line, junior Sydney Doloszycki singled up the middle and a two-out single to center by sophomore Kendall Smiley drove in two runners. Freshman Ava Coffinger drew two walks on Sunday.

Ohio State scored 24 runs on 19 hits, seven walks and a pair of Spartan errors.
