Softball Brings Power Bats in Loss to Indiana

Michigan State's record moves to 13-21 (1-7 B1G) while Indiana improves to 25-12 (2-6 B1G).
Senior Jenae Wash and sophomore's Britain Beshears and Sydney Doloszycki each homered for the Spartans on Saturday. Beshears slugged her team-leading 11th long ball of the season to move her into a tie for the fifth-most single-season home runs in program history.
Sophomore Hannah Hawley, junior Macy Lee and senior Alexis Ross also had hits for the Spartans on Saturday. Senior Anna Fox, junior Mik Anthony, freshman Payton Conroy and Hawley drew walks. Hawley reached base three times including a hit by pitch.
Junior Madison Taylor (1-7) was the pitcher of record in game two, pitching two innings and allowing four earned runs before being relieved by junior Faith Guidry. Guidry struck out one in two innings, allowing three earned (one unearned). Senior Ashlyn Roberts pitched the final three innings of the contest with four unearned runs crossing.
Indiana led 6-0 before Wash's second home run of the season put the first run on the board for MSU.

The Hoosiers tacked on two more runs in the fifth to lead 8-1. Wash prevented more runs from potentially scoring in the fifth with a diving grab that is becoming routine for her this season.

Spartan sophomores Beshears and Doloszycki hit back-to-back jacks in the fifth to halve Indiana's advantage to 8-4.

The Hoosiers scored four additional runs in the seventh to cap-off a 12-run performance.
