• No. 12/13 Michigan State will take on No. 6/7 Michigan in a home-and-home series.  The Wolverines own a 176-138-24 edge in the series all-time.  Brandon Naurato is the interim head coach of the Wolverines, and the former Michigan letterman has guided his charges to an 11-6-1 overall record and the Wolverines enter the weekend at 3-8 in Big Ten play.  UM split on the road at Wisconsin last weekend, and is 2-4-1 over its last seven games. Â
•  MSU's offense is the pleasant surprise of the season.  The Spartans averaged 2.11 goals per game in 2021-22, scoring 76 times.  Through 18 games, the current MSU squad has 61 goals, averaging 3.39 goals per contest - fourth in the Big Ten and 13th nationally.  MSU ranks sixth nationally in goals scored (61) and  sixth in shots on goal (607).  MSU was 44th in shots a year ago (989, 27.47 per game) and 49th in total goals scored (76).
•  Jeremy Davidson was MSU's top point scorer the last two weekends, and potted a pair of goals in Saturday's game against the Gophers.  Davidson has two, two-goal games in his last three contests and has five goals and seven points over his last five games. He now owns a 5-5-10 scoring line. Â
• Nicolas Müller has increased his team lead to 14 assists, which is tied for second in the B1G.  He ranks 22nd among Division I players ( 0.78 asst/gm).  Müller's 3-14-17 scoring line (+4) is his best single-season points total in his career and is tied for second on the MSU stat sheet. Muller is one of five players who have already eclipsed their career-best total in either points or goals.  Â
•  Christian Krygier missed nine games with injury before returning to action against Minnesota.  He picked up a pair of assists in the second game against the Gophers, and now has a 1-2-3 scoring line in eight games.  Christian Krygier has skated in 138 career games, which is 15th among active defensemen in college hockey and 38th overall.  Cole Krygier is one game ahead of his brother with 139 career contests, which is tied for 34th among active players and 14th among active blueliners.  Michael Underwood is the veteran of 145 career college hockey games (tied for 18th among active players and ninth among defensemen).
•  Dylan St. Cyr has played in 17 of MSU's 18 games this season.  He is second in the Big Ten with a .924 save percentage overall (15th nationally), and is fourth in the Conference with a 2.53 GAA.  He owns the second-most victories of any B1G netminder (10). He has had 30 or more saves over the last 11 games, nine of which were Big Ten contests.  St. Cyr has turned away 522 shots this season, and his 30.71 saves per game average both rank first in the Conference.Â
