Michigan State Track & Field Begins Outdoor Season Friday at USF Alumni Invitational

EAST LANSING, Mich. – After a successful end to the indoor track and field season, Michigan State's outdoor season begins Friday afternoon when the Spartans travel to Tampa, Florida, for the 2026 USF Alumni Invitational. The meet will be held over a two-day span beginning on Friday, March 20 and concluding on Saturday, March 21. Â
 The Green & White enter the outdoor season coming off a phenomenal end to the indoor season, where throwers Elle Adrian and Dillion Morlock earned All-American Honors at the NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships.Â
 THE SCHEUDLE OF EVENTS:
Friday, March 20th
The meet will kick off with field events, with the men's javelin throw as the first event, beginning at 10:00 a.m. Competing for MSU is Dylan Terryberry. The meet will then transition into the women's pole vault at 11:00 a.m., with Natalie Blake and Sophia Mettes set to vault for MSU. At 12:30 p.m., the men's hammer throw is slated to begin, with throwers Dalton DeBeau and Xaiver Griffiths representing the Green & White.Â
Following a short intermission, the meet will resume at 2:00 p.m. with the women's long jump and men's shot put. Leila Barmore and Gabrielle Jeffrie and Tess Roman will be the trio competing in the women's long jump, while brothers Dillion, who is fresh off earning All-American honors in the indoor shot put, and Colby Morlock will be the brotherly duo competing in the men's shot put.  The women's hammer throw is scheduled to begin at 3:00 p.m. with Rylan Finstrom, Margret Jones, Jessica Stieb, and Elle Adrian set to throw. Following the women's hammer throw, the men's pole vault and long jump will begin at 4:00 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. Adam Blue, Landon Cosby and Sean Mullen will compete in the men's pole vault, while Carter Bissell, Andrew Harding and senior Alex Yon will sport the Green & White in the men's long jump. At 5:00 and 5:30 p.m., the women's shot put and javelin throw will begin with sophomore throwers Rylan Finstrom and Mackenzie Johns, and junior throwers Margret Jones and Jessica Stieb scheduled to throw in the women's shot put, and Tess Roman will be competing in the javelin throw.Â
Following a short break for the Spartans, the meet will swiftly transition into track events with the women competing before the men in each event. Friday's action for the Green & White will wrap up following the 200m dash starting at 6:30 and 7:15 p.m., with sprinters Liz Anderson and Lexy Wilson as the Spartan contestants for the women, and sophomore sprinter Cameron Cheetam as the lone Spartan athlete running for the men.Â
 Saturday. March 21st
Saturday's events are set to get underway at 11:00 a.m. with a trio of events starting. The women's triple jump, and the men's high jump and discus throw will all begin at 11:00 a.m., with a slew of Spartans competing. MSU will have senior Brady Schultz slated to compete in the men's high jump, along throwers DeBeau and Dillion Morlock set to throw for MSU in the men's discus throw. In the women's triple jump, the Spartans will have Baremore dawning the Green & White.
Following the USF Alumni recognition, the meet will head back to the track for the final track events of the meet, with the women competing before the men in each event. At 12:45 p.m., the men's 400m relay will start with Bissell, Cheetham, Harding, and Drew Novak running for MSU. The men's pole vault invite will begin at 1:00 p.m. with selected male throwers slated to compete for MSU. At 1:30 p.m., the Spartans will have female athletes competing in two events. Competing in the women's high jump is senior Corin Whitcomb, while Finstrom, Kate Stajos, and Stieb will throw in the discus throw Liz Anderson and Lexy Wilson will be competing for MSU in the women's 400m dash at 2:25 p.m., while Cameron Cheetam, Drew Novak, and Noah Sage are set to run in the men's 400m dash, beginning at 2:55 p.m. In the 100m dash, the men will have Carter Bissell and Andrew Harding will be running for the Spartans at 3:40 p.m. Following the completion of the men's 100m dash, the meet will pause briefly at 3:55 p.m. for the USF Senior Recognition Ceremony. Action resumes at 4:30 p.m. and 4:45 p.m. with the 1600m relay, the meets final event. Anderson, Johns, Roman, and Wilson will be running for the women, and Sean Mullen, Novak, Terryberry, and either Noah Sage or Alex Yon are set to run for the men.Â

Following the conclusion of the USF Alumni Invitational, Michigan State will be traveling to Raleigh, North Carolina next weekend for the Raleigh Relays spanning from Thursday, March 26Â to Saturday, March 28.
