No. 29 Michigan State Men’s Tennis Sweeps No. 57 Indiana To Add Another in Road Win Column

Spartans continue their recent success on the road.
BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Michigan State men's tennis opened up their weekend in the Hoosier State with a 4-0 sweep over No. 57 Indiana.
Michigan State improves to 9-6 on the season and 4-1 in B1G. The Spartans are now on a two-match winning streak, both on the road. Indiana falls to 9-7, 0-5 in B1G. The Hoosiers are on a six-match losing streak.
The Spartans returned to their most successful doubles pairings at No. 1, junior Ozan Baris and redshirt-sophomore Aristotelis Thanos. The Sheldon brothers of senior Max Sheldon and freshman Mitchell Sheldon found themselves at No. 2, with freshman Danial Rakhmatullayev and freshman Vuk Radjenovic rounding out the Spartans doubles pairings at No. 3.
Continuing their success at No. 2 doubles, Ma. Sheldon and Mi. Sheldon defeated Braeden Gelletich/Ben Pomeranets (IU). The Spartan brothers duo put on a show for the fans, winning 6-1.
Grabbing the doubles point for MSU was Baris/Thanos. The two took on Jip Van Assendelft/Sam Scherer (IU) and also won their match 6-1.
With the doubles point in favor of the Spartans, the remaining doubles match went unfinished.
Using the momentum from the doubles matches, the Spartans went their separate way and played their single matches.
Showing that he deserved his Big Ten Player of the Week accolade, Ma. Sheldon played at the No. 2 singles spot, and took on Deacon Thomas (IU). The pairing fought back-and-forth but Ma. Sheldon pulled out the win, 6-1, 6-1.
Putting the Spartans farther ahead was freshman Matthew Forbes. Missing out on doubles, Forbes used the energy from his teammates to defeat Ben Pomeranets (IU), 6-4, 6-0.
Securing the victory for the team was freshman Vuk Radjenovic. Radjenovic took on Braeden Gelletich (IU). A hard-fought match ended in a victory for Radjenovic, 6-3, 6-4.
With the match in favor of the Spartans, the remaining matches went unfinished.
