
Michigan State Men’s Tennis Heads to Ann Arbor for ITA Sectionals

Four Spartans compete for a spot at the NCAA Individual Championships
EAST LANSING, Mich. – Michigan State men's tennis is set to send four student-athletes to Ann Arbor, Michigan, for the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Sectionals this weekend, Thursday to Sunday, Nov. 6-9.
Action will be held at UM's Varsity Tennis Center. Admission is free. Fans who can't make it in person to root on the Spartans can follow the Green & White throughout the tournament via live links available at MSUSpartans.com.
Junior Taym Alazmeh will team up with sophomore Danial Rakhmatullayev for doubles play. The duo of Alazmeh and Rakhmatullayev will look to make their mark in Ann Arbor after showing strong chemistry throughout the fall slate and hope to keep building their momentum through the weekend.
Sophomore Matthew Forbes and senior Ozan Baris will team up for doubles as well. Baris and Forbes have had strong fall seasons, and both have already qualified for the NCAA Individual Championships in singles. This weekend, they aim to qualify together in doubles.
In addition to doubles play, Alazmeh will take to the court for singles action, aiming to secure a spot at the NCAA Championships alongside Forbes and Baris.
The top six players and the top three teams in this tournament will qualify for the NCAA Individual Championships held in Orlando, Florida, at the end of the month.
