Scoring Summary
The Spartans took an early 2-0 lead over Wisconsin through three innings before the Badgers would score four unanswered to gain the lead. MSU struck first on a Badger error after senior Kendall Kates reached on an error. An errant throw to get the runner at third ended up in left which allowed Barroso to score from third. Michigan State added its second run in the third inning off an Esman double to left center. Esman's liner plated junior Collette Allen who reached on a Badger error.
Wisconsin's first run of the game also came on an error as a fielding error in the infield allowed a runner to score from third. The Badgers followed it up with a two-run home run before scoring again on a throwing error down to third base.
Michigan State used baserunning to run into its third run of the game as a double steal attempt allowed senior Anna Fox to score from third despite Mabrey being caught on the basepath.
The Badgers added a pair of insurance runs in the sixth before tacking on three more runs in the seventh to win the series.
