EAST LANSING, Mich. --Â Michigan State hits the road again this weekend for the Dale England Cup hosted by No. 16-ranked Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana. There, the Spartans will face-off against the Hoosiers as well as Notre Dame at Lake Lemon for the 11th annual edition of the regatta. Points will be awarded for first, second, and third place finishes in the first varsity eight, second varsity eight, and first varsity four, determining which crew goes home with the Dale England Cup trophy.
Â
Â
This is the second time MSU has seen Indiana after facing the Hoosiers in the Big Ten/Ivy League Dual on March 29-30. Michigan State saw Notre Dame in September in an exhibition setting.
"The team this past weekend was working on their boat rhythm and they were somewhat effective with it," said Michigan State head coach Matt Weise. "The biggest thing this week is going to be if they can get into a rhythm, the boat has to work as a unit and they have to start matching up their individual rhythms. I hope to see that this weekend and I think if we do that we're going to stack up pretty well against Indiana and Notre Dame. I think we're comparable speed and hopefully a little bit faster if we're in that rhythm."
