MSU/Western Michigan cancelled Wednesday; Friday game moved to 3:30 pm
Mother Nature has forced a pair of schedule changes for the Spartan softball program.
Wednesday's game vs. Western Michigan has been canceled due to a forecast of rain throughout the afternoon.
The Spartans host Penn State this weekend as the teams begin their Big Ten schedule. Friday's game - originally scheduled as a 6 pm start - has been moved to a 3:30 pm first pitch as temperatures are expected to decrease throughout the afternoon. The final two games of the series remain as 1 pm start times on both Saturday and Sunday.
MSU (10-16) took two of three from the Nittany Lions last season in State College, and the series is tied 5-5 over the last 10 games. PSU (13-12) hosts a doubleheader with Robert Morris on Wednesday afternoon before making the trip to East Lansing.
All three games this weekend will be streamed on BTN2Go, and will also be carried on the Spartan Sports Network live audio stream. The broadcast will be available exclusively at SpartanSportsNetwork.com and on the network's 24/7 app for mobile devices (available on iTunes and Google Play). Matt Tjapkes is back in the booth to call all the Spartan softball action the action.
Any further schedule updates will be announced on www.MSUSpartans.com and on twitter @MSU_Softball
