Men's Tennis to Compete at Notre Dame Invite

EAST LANSING, Mich. – The Michigan State men's tennis team continues its 2018 fall tournament season on Friday, October 5 through Sunday, October 8 at the Notre Dame Invite from Eck Tennis Pavilion in Notre Dame, Indiana. Competition will start on Friday with singles and doubles.
Named after legendary Irish tennis coach, Bobby Bayliss, the weekend tournament will feature four flights of singles matches and three flights for doubles.
Saturday's slate of competition will begin at 9 a.m. with one flight to be played in the morning session and one in the afternoon. The weekend tournament will conclude on Sunday with the final round of singles and doubles to start at 9 a.m. and wrap around 2 p.m. ET.
"We are looking forward to a great weekend to compete against great competition," said MSU head coach Gene Orlando. "It will sharpen our skills and our continual development."
Senior's Colin Harvey, Ivan Rakic and Billy Shisler, alongside sophomore's John Carlin and Jack Winkler will compete at the Notre Dame Invite. Winkler will compete in Group A, Shisler and Carlin in Group B and Harvey and Rakic in Group C.
Winkler, Calin and Harvey start things off in the first round of singles play for the Spartans on Friday morning, followed by singles matches for Shisler and Rakic in the following slates. Shisler and Rakic will compete in doubles at 3:30 alongside the pairing of Carlin and Winkler.
Michigan State will be one of eight teams with competitors in the Notre Dame Invite field which includes Notre Dame, Illinois, Iowa, Louisville, Marquette, Nebraska and Western Michigan.
