
Softball Falls At Ohio State

COLUMBUS, Ohio - The Michigan State softball team (10-14) fell in its Big Ten conference opener, 8-0, to Ohio State in six innings on Saturday afternoon. The Spartans posted three hits and senior Megan Hair started in the circle for MSU, pitching 4.2 innings.
Ohio State posted four hits through the first four innings, but Hair kept the Buckeyes off the scoreboard. OSU recorded four runs on four hits in the fifth to claim the lead, with two runs scoring off singles.
Senior Gina Mondo notched a double to right center in the sixth with two outs, but a fly out to right field ended the inning.
The Buckeyes posted four runs in the sixth, led by Courtney Pruner's three-run home run to left center to claim the win.
Freshman Lauren Kramer and sophomore Lindsey Hansen both posted hits for the Spartans, and freshman Rebecca Rogers made her second straight appearance.
MSU finishes a two-game series with Ohio State on Sunday at 2 p.m.
