EAST LANSING, Mich. - Stephanie Yuhasz has been named the Womensfieldhockey.com Division I Player of the Week for the first time in her career after posting back-to-back shutouts last week, as Michigan State downed Central Michigan and Indiana. The honor comes following the announcement on Monday that Yuhasz's efforts had earned her Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week honors.
Yuhasz began the week with a 2-0 win against the Chippewas, which was MSU's second victory over the in-state opponent this season. The senior keeper went on to tally four saves in the final home game of her career, a 1-0 upset of No. 13 Indiana.
The consecutive blankings upped her shutouts for the season to four, putting Yuhasz at third in the Big Ten. The West Bloomfield, Mich. native posted her first collegiate shutout earlier this season, a 4-0 win over St. Joseph's.
