EAST LANSING, Mich. - Stephanie Yuhasz posted back-to-back shutouts last week as the Michigan State field hockey team downed Central Michigan and Indiana, and her efforts earned her first Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week honors.
Yuhasz began the week with a 2-0 win against the Chippewas, which was MSU's second victory over the in-state opponent this season. The senior keeper went on to tally four saves in the final home game of her career, a 1-0 upset of No. 13 Indiana .
The consecutive blankings upped her shutouts for the season to four, putting Yuhasz at third in the Big Ten. The West Bloomfield, Mich. native posted her first collegiate shutout earlier this season, a 4-0 win over St. Joseph's.
