The Husker offense, which was held at bay in a 2-0 Friday victory, exploded to record a 13-0 victory in game one, and then came back with a 4-1 win in Saturday's second game. In the Saturday opener, MSU threw its freshmen pitchers over the opening four innings – Alex Starr got the start and went 1.2 innings, and Alyssa Galindo came on in the second and threw 2.1, striking out three. Carsyn Cassady threw the final two innings.
Zoie Bernard had a double in each of MSU's Saturday games, and classmate Lyndsey Hooker came off the bench to deliver a pinch-hit single in the nightcap. Both Britain Beshears and Hannah Hawley walked twice in the weekend set.
