Spartan Men Finish Strong on Final Day of the B1G Indoor Track & Field Championships

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – On the final day of the Big Ten Indoor Track & Field Championships, four Spartans reached the podium at Indiana Farm Bureau Fall Creek Pavilion in Indianapolis.
Over the three day championship, Michigan State reached the podium in 10 events.
In the men's high jump, Brady Schultz had a strong performance to get the Spartans going. Schultz earned two points for Michigan State with a best jump of 2.12m, which was good for seventh place.
Adam Blue also picked up points for the Spartans in the pole vault. In a highly-competitive pole vault event, Blue finished tied for eighth tied with Michigan's Liam Kinney with a best vault of 5.23m.
In the men's 3,000m, Andrew Nolan was in the final pack heading down the stretch. Oregon's Simeon Birnbaum pulled away from the group at the finish, but Nolan was able to fight for the seventh-place finish. He ended with a time of 8:03.59.
In the women's 4x400m relay, the Spartans didn't make the podium but they did have a season-best time. The team of Elizabeth Anderson, Lexy Wilson, Sarah Forsyth and Sydnee Sinn finished 11th overall with a time of 3:42.14. The time was No. 9 all-time at MSU.
The meet ended with the men's 4x400m relay with the MSU team of Noah Sage, Alex Yon, Cameron Cheetam and Timothy Cherry. The team ran a personal best time of 3:10.79, which was No. 2 all-time in Michigan State history. Overall, the quartet finished 10th.
On the women's side, Rylan Finstrom finished 16th in the shot put with a throw of 15.52m, while Margaret Jones was 20th with a throw of 14.65m. In the women's triple jump, Leila Barmore was 12th (12.50m).
The Spartan men finished 14th with 21.5 points, while the MSU women were 18th with six points. Oregon captured the team title on both the men's women's side.
