Michigan State Travels to Indianapolis for Big Ten Indoor Track & Field Championships

EAST LANSING, Mich. –  Michigan State track & field will travel to Indianapolis, Indiana for the Big Ten Indoor Championships, Feb. 26-28 at the Indiana State Fairgrounds. This is the second-straight season that the meet has been held in Indianapolis.
This is the second time this season that the Spartans have competed at the Indiana State Fairgrounds after taking part in the Heartland Invitational Feb. 13-14. This season the meet will be expanded to three days.
Day one action will begin with the men's heptathlon 60m at 11:30 a.m., followed by the women's pentathlon 60m hurdles at 11:45 a.m.Â
The first day of action will end with the men's and women's distance medley relays. The women will open the DMR action at 6:25 p.m. with the men ending the night at 6:55 p.m.
Last year, the Spartan women finished second in the distance medley relay title with time of 11:00.04. The team of Kate Stewart-Barnett, Lexy Wilson, Shae Harbaugh and Rachel Forsyth were the relay team that helped the Spartans get on the podium.Â
On the second day last season, Michigan State reached the podium seven times. Forsyth finished fifth in the 3000m with a time of 9:11.99. The Spartans scored nine points in the women's mile thanks to top eight finishes from Kate Stewart-Barnett and Olivia Millen.Â
In his B1G Indoor Championships debut, Dillon Morlock made the most of his chances, finishing fifth in the shot put.Â
On Thursday, the bulk of the first day of action will be trials for the running events, along with the beginning of both the heptathlon, featuring Dylan Terryberry and the pentathlon, featuring Tess Roman.
Friday's action will focus on field events. All-American Elle Adrian will be in action in the women's weight throw at 11:30 a.m. and Leila Barmore in the women's long jump also at 11:30 a.m. The prelims for both mile races will also be held on Friday. The men's weight throw will start at 3:15 p.m. The day will end with the prelims of both the 60m hurdle races.
On the final day of action on Saturday, the day begins  at 11:30 a.m. with the men's high jump and the women's triple jump. The day will consist with all finals, including 3000m finals featuring Rachel Forsyth on the women's side and Andy Nolan on the men's side.
