Allen’s School-Record Performance Highlights Busy Weekend for MSU Track & Field

EAST LANSING, Mich. – Behind Logan Allen's school record, the Michigan State track & field team had a successful weekend at three different meets.
Heartland Invitational
Friday-Saturday Feb. 13-14
On Friday, the Spartans earned seven top-three finishes. In the 60m hurdles, Allen once again broke his own school record with a time 7.75 in the final. He finished on top of the podium, topping his previous school record of 7.77, which he has done twice this season.
Noah Sage captured first place in the 600m with a time of 1:19.60. In the 60m, Cameron Cheetam finished second, crossing the line in 6.76. It was the fourth-fastest time in Michigan State history.
In the field events, Carter Bissell took second in the long jump with a jump of 7.31m. Adam Blue finished second in the pole vault with a top vault of 5.19m.
All-American Elle Adrian continued her strong showing with a second-place finish in the women's weight throw invitational. Her longest throw was 20.74m. In the open weight throw, Rylan Finstrom was first (17.59m), while Margaret Jones was fifth (17.23m).
On Saturday, Brady Schultz finished second in the men's high jump with a jump of 2.10m, just shy of his PR of 2.15m. Cheetam came back on Saturday with another strong performance. He was second for the second-straight day in the 200m with a time of 21.27.
In the women's shot put open, Finstrom took second (15.21m), while Jones was fifth (14.22m). In the women's triple jump, Leila Barmore took third with a jump of 12.31m.
Dillon Morlock also took third in the men's shot put with a throw of 18.59m
BU Valentine Invitational
Friday-Saturday Feb. 13-14
On Friday at the highly competitive BU Valentine Invitational, Andrew Nolan finished 26th in the 3000m with a personal-best time of 7:57.76. His performance was also the sixth-best in Michigan State history.
On the women's side, Elizabeth Anderson finished seventh in the 400m with a personal-best time 55.39. Anderson's time was No. 10 all-time at Michigan State.
On Saturday, Olivia Millen ran a personal-best time of 4:37.95 in the mile. She finished 29th with what was No. 6 on the all-time Michigan State list.
Rachel Forsyth had another strong performance in a stacked field in the 3000m. She finished 17th with a time of 9:04.61.
GVSU Big Meet
Friday, Feb. 13
The Spartans had several distance running at the GVSU Big Meet. Mia Rogan (4:54.34) and Anajali Kidambi (4:55.51) both set new PRs in the mile. On the men's side, Brady McArdle (4:05.31), Gage Killewald (4:06.58) and Owen Gilbert (4:08.99) also set new personal best times in the mile.
