• Michigan State moved to No. 3 in the USA Hockey Poll and No. 4 in the USCHO.com poll this week. MSU has not been ranked lower than No. 4 in either poll this season.

• The Spartans are looking to rebound following a series split at Ohio State last weekend in which it won game one of the series, 6-2, but fell in the weekend finale, 2-1.

• Freshman defenseman Matt Lahey, a 2024 Toronto Maple Leafs draft pick, tallied his first career point last weekend, assisting on Porter Martone's game-tying goal in game two.

• Michigan State scored three goals in a matter of just 23 seconds in the first period of game one against Ohio State on Friday. Anthony Romani scored at 13:23, Porter Martone scored at 13:30 and Charlie Stramel scored at 13:46 to give MSU a 3-0 lead.

• Michigan State's top line forwards Daniel Russell - Charlie Stramel - Porter Martone have recorded 71 points this season on 30 goals and 41 assists. They are a combined +58 with Stramel leading with a +22 to Russell's +19 and Martone's +17.

• Russell reached the 100 career point milestone againt Ohio State in MSU's 6-2 win on Friday night recording three assists. His three assists matched his career high for single game points and assists. He's the 72nd Spartan all-time to reach 100 career points and the first since Mitchell Lewandowski who finished his career 52nd all-time with 120 points (2017-22).

• Russell ranks #22 nationally in assists per game (0.80) and is one of only seven active DI players with 100 career points.

• Stramel is #6 nationally in face-off wins (250), #39 in assists per game (0.70), #15 in goals per game (0.60) and #12 in points per game (1.30), leading the Spartans in points with 26 (12-14-26).

• Martone ranks #6 nationally in goals per game (0.78) and is #6 in points per game (1.39), ranking second on the team in points with 25 (14-11-25).

• Martone was named the Big Ten's Second Star of the Week on 1/13 after posting a Big Ten best five points on three goals and two assists at Ohio State. His goal on Saturday tied the game at 1-1 and his four points on Friday night were a season-best.

• Junior goaltender Trey Augustine is among the best in the country ranking #1 in shutouts (3), #2 in goals against average (1.72) and #1 in save percentage (.938). Augustine leads the Big Ten in all three categories.

• Augustine was named to the 2026 Mike Richter Award Watch List, the award presented annually to the top goaltender in college hockey.

• Michigan State ranks #1 nationally in scoring defense (1.75), #14 in scoring offense (3.50) and #4 in scoring margin (+1.75). MSU leads the Big Ten in scoring defense and is third in scoring offense.

• Wisconsin took the first two games of the season series at Munn in November, defeating the Spartans in a pair of one goal games, 5-4 and 2-1 in overtime. Porter Martone sent game two to overtime scoring a power play goal in the final 40 second of regulation.
