It was MSU's first undefeated B1G road weekend of the season. The Spartans held their opponents to a combined hitting percentage of just .140, the lowest opponent hitting clip in the conference last week.
The Spartans' 18 wins are the most in a season since going 24-9 in 2017. At 8-6 in conference play, MSU sits in a three-way tie for sixth place in the B1G alongside Penn State and UCLA. Undefeated Nebraska is first in the conference standings, while Purdue (12-2) sits in second, Wisconsin (11-3) ranks third and Indiana and USC (10-4) are in a tie for fourth.

Junior libero Lia Schneider posted 20 digs against both Washington and Oregon to average 4.44 digs per set and total the second-most digs in the conference last week with 40. She has recorded at least 20 digs in three of MSU's last four matches.Â
Splitting time in a 6-2 system in both matches last week, setters Cam Berger and Malayah Long totaled 49 and 47 assists, respectively, over MSU's two matches. Berger made her first start of the season at Oregon.
About the State Pride Series
Sunday's match will determine the winner of the 35th edition of the State Pride Series. MSU won the first match in this year's series, 3-0, in East Lansing on Sept. 27.
Beginning in 1990, the two state of Michigan B1G institutions began a "State Pride" season series to celebrate the in-state rivalry. A state of Michigan flag bearing the motto "Tuebor" or "I will defend," serves as a symbol of the volleyball rivalry with the winner of the season's face-to-face matches retaining possession of the flag for a year. In addition to the State flag, each school's winning year is listed on its half of a special Michigan State-Michigan banner.
The school that wins both matches will be declared the "State Pride" winner. If teams split the matches, the school that wins the greatest number of games will be declared the "State Pride" winner. If both teams have won the same number of games, the school with the most total points is the "State Pride" winner.
Michigan leads the series, 19-14-1, and won last year's edition, 4-3 (total sets), after the teams split the series with wins at each home site. MSU won the State Pride Series for the first time since 2015 in 2023 after winning both matches.
