
MSU Indoor Track & Field Season Resumes at Hoosier Hills Invitational

EAST LANSING , Mich. - A week after winning the Big Ten Women's Cross Country Championship, Michigan State returns to the track for the Hoosier Hills Invitational in Bloomington, Indiana on Saturday, Feb. 6.
This is the Spartans second-straight meet at the Gladstein Fieldhouse at the University of Indiana after competing at the Gladstein Invitational on Jan. 23.
The women's meet will start the day, beginning at 11 a.m., while the men's meet will start at 3 p.m.
Sophomore Olivia Lopez will get the action started in the long jump. Lopez finished first in the event with a jump of 5.73m at the Simmons-Harvey Invitational on Jan. 16. MSU will also have juniors Sophia Franklin and Calli Ostapowicz back in action in the pole vault, who have both had a strong start to the season.
Michigan State will also have a strong presence on the track, especially in the sprints.
On the men's side, junior Trevor Stephenson is one of two pole vaulters in action. Stephenson won the pole vault title at the Gladstein Invitational with a Big Ten-best jump of 5.10. Freshman Ryan Talbot will also be making his Spartan debut in the pole vault on Saturday.
Senior Jerimiah Evans and junior Dan Stone will be back in action in the throws. Both will compete in the shot put, while Stone will return in the weight throw.
After the Hoosier Hills Invitational, the Spartans continue the indoor season at the B1G SPIRE Invitational on Feb. 12-13 in Geneva, Ohio.
