EAST LANSING, Mich. -- The Michigan State men's tennis team closes out a five-match road trip this weekend, facing off against Ball State and IUPUI in nonconference action. Last week, the Spartans traveled to West Point, N.Y. for the Arthur Ashe Invitational hosted by Army West Point where they went 1-2 in matches against Army, Yale, and Cal Poly. MSU will open the weekend with a 1 p.m. ET match against Ball State before making the drive to Indianapolis to face IUPUI at 8 p.m. ET.

Ball State has been off since January 13 when they took a 7-0 season opening loss to Indiana. IUPUI found themselves in the same boat on January 13, falling 7-0 to a Kentucky squad that's receiving votes in the latest ITA team rankings.
"We have two tough challenging matches ahead of us this weekend against Ball State and IUPUI," said Michigan State head coach Gene Orlando. "Both teams are very talented and deep. It's a rare doubleheader where we will play at Ball State in the afternoon and then travel to IUPUI for a night match, which presents challenges."
The depth of opposing rosters will be challenge for the Spartans this weekend with both opposing programs boasting a roster of 10 or more players. "This will be a grueling challenge since we only have seven healthy guys at the moment," said Orlando. "The guys have embraced the opportunity and are ready for the challenge.
Live results will not be available this weekend, but make sure to follow men's tennis on twitter at @MSU_Tennis for match updates. Final results will be available on msuspartans.com as soon as possible following the conclusion of each match.
