North Florida (30-under-par 834) edged South Florida (29-under-par 835) for the team title. Travis Trace of North Florida claimed medalist honors at 13-under-par 203.
James Piot shot a 1-over-par 73 in the final round and had the second-best finish of his career – tying for seventh place at 5-under-par 211 (70-68-73). It's the second time this fall Piot has been the Spartans' top finisher.
Donnie Trosper had his third top-15 finish of the fall, tying for 12th place. Trosper was even or below par in all three rounds, finishing the tournament at 4-under-par 212 (70-72-70). His 2-under-par 70 on Tuesday was the best round of the day by a Spartan and included five birdies.
"James has had a really consistent fall," MSU head coach Casey Lubahn said. "He was close to putting together a really good event this week and was solid start to finish.
"Donnie played nicely this week as well. He didn't score as well as he would have hoped, but he hit the ball well enough for some low-stress rounds. It was a good week for both of those guys."
Kaleb Johnson finished 4-over-par 220 (75-69-76), tying for 45th place.
Troy Taylor II's 5-over-par 77 on Tuesday included his third eagle of the season. He ended the tournament 9-over-par 225 (72-76-77).
Andrew Walker was 12-over-par 228 (72-75-81).
After four consecutive weeks of competition, the Spartans will be off this coming weekend. MSU will return to action in its final tournament of the fall, Oct. 27-28, in Greensboro, North Carolina, at the UNCG/Grandover Collegiate.
"It will be nice to have a break," Lubahn said. "These last four courses are places I thought we could have success at, but unfortunately we got on a bad stretch the last three weeks and we're having some trouble getting out of it. We'll regroup and be ready in Greensboro; it will be important for us to finish the fall on a high note."
