THE LAST TIME OUT: ROBERT KEPLER INTERCOLLEGIATE
The Spartans put together one of their best performances of the season at the rain-shortened Robert Kepler Intercollegiate, April 19-20, at Ohio State. Two Spartans – James Piot and Troy Taylor II – had the best finishes of their careers. Piot tied for second place with a pair of rounds under par (70, 69), while Taylor tied for 17th.
The second-place finish gave MSU its third top-three finish of the season.
SPARTANS AT THE B1G CHAMPIONSHIPS
Michigan State has four Big Ten titles, the last of which came in 2008. MSU won three titles (2005, 2007, 2008) in a span of four years with current head coach Casey Lubahn then serving as an assistant coach. The Spartan also won the league crown in 1969.
Last season, the Spartans placed seventh, while Kaleb Johnson was the team's top finisher, tying for 15th place.

LUBAHN'S THOUGHTS
"It has been a good couple of weeks. We had three weeks of downtime and then came back and played really well last weekend. We had a chance to win, but just got beat by a good performance by an Ohio State player.
"I'm very confident, it's a good golf course for us. We've got a good lineup and guys are in the right spirits and things are going the right direction and the exact right time, hopefully."
EXPECTED WEATHER CONDITIONS
Friday – Thunderstorms, high of 69, 90% chance of rain
Saturday – Mostly sunny, high of 63
Sunday – PM showers, high of 66, 40% chance of rain
