McCoy Biagioli Named Big Ten Golfer of the Week

East Lansing, Mich. – Michigan State senior men's golfer McCoy Biagioli was named the Big Ten Conference Golfer of the Week after his performance at the Fighting Irish Classic
Biagioli shot a 5-under par 205 (65-71-69) and tied for second place in the field of 81 golfers.
The Spartans shot a 4-over par 284 in Monday's final round and finished in seventh place at 12-over par 852 (281-287-284).
Biagioli was among the leaders in the field after an opening round 5-under par 65, tied for the lowest round in his Michigan State career. The senior closed with a 1-under par 69 on Monday to tie for second at 5-under par 205 (65-71-69).
Through four tournaments and 12 rounds this year, Biagioli leads the team with a 69.58 scoring average, has one top-five finish, two among the top-10 and three in the top-20.
This is his second career Big Ten Golfer of the Week honor. His first recognition was on Sept. 4, 2005 after firing a 15-under par 201 at the season-opening Island Resort Intercollegiate, the second-lowest tournament score in MSU history.
Michigan State closes out the Fall season later this month at the Quail Valley Intercollegiate, being played at Quail Valley Golf Club in Vero Beach, Fla. on Sunday, Oct. 18 and Monday, Oct. 19.
