EAST LANSING, Mich. - Michigan State (11-15, 2-7) fell to No. 32 Minnesota (17-6, 8-1) on Sunday, 7-0.
The Spartans honored their three seniors, Harry Jadun, Gijs Linders and Doug Zade, before the match.
"This is by far the toughest schedule I have ever had," head coach Gene Orlando said. "The leadership the seniors have shown, and they way they have elevated their play has really helped us this year."
Minnesota won the doubles point, as No. 57 Leandro Toledo and Felix Corwin won the No. 2 doubles match and Matic Spec and Eric Frueh won the No. 3 doubles match.
Harry Jadun and John Patrick Mullane, ranked No. 21 in doubles, did knock off the No. 53 pair of Jack Hamburg and Mathieu Froment for Minnesota, 8-3. It was the seventh ranked win for Jadun and Mullane. They are 7-3 overall against ranked doubles opponents on the season.
Minnesota then swept the singles matches.
Jadun took Ruben Weber to a third set, but eventually fell, 6-1, 2-6, 6-3.
"They guys gave it their all," Orlando said. "They battled, this was just a loss to a good team."
Michigan State travels to West Lafayette next Friday to take on Purdue at 5 p.m.
