Barker Named Second Team All-American

EAST LANSING, Mich.- Michigan State senior forward Abby Barker (Columbus, Ohio) has been recognized as a 2014 Longstreth / NFHCA Division I Second-Team All-American. Barker is an All-American for the third time in her career after being a Second-Team selection in 2012 and a Third-Team member last season.
"This is the final feather in the cap for Abby's career," said head coach Helen Knull. "As she solidified herself in the MSU field hockey history books this season, it is fantastic to see her recognized nationally for her dominant play and goal-scoring ability. I am very proud of all Abby has accomplished in her career and how she has represented the Spartans in the nationally."
Barker was the Spartans' leading scorer in 2014, tallying 14 goals, 12 assists, and 40 points, ranking in the top five of the Big Ten in each of those categories. She was also a First-Team All-West Region selection along with being named First-Team All-Big Ten.
After wrapping up her career as a four year starter, Barker finished tied for fourth all-time at Michigan State in both goals (59) and points (136).
