Meet the Spartans: Jessica Albers

EAST LANSING, Mich. - The Michigan State field hockey team will feature a freshman student-athlete every week this fall in attempt to "Meet the Spartans". This week freshman Jessica Albers (Alphen aan den Rijn, NL) sat down with msuspartans.com to answer some questions.

Nickname: Jess, Jessie, Dutchie
Family: 1 older brother- Stephan (20), dad- Ruud(53), mom- Jolanda(48)
Pets: Yellow Labrador Retriever
Dream vacation spot: Australia, Sweden
Favorite spot on campus: Ralph Young Field
Why you chose MSU: I fell in love with the big campus and the field hockey program is great!
Favorite movie: The boy in the striped pyjamas, Friends with benefits, Pitch Perfect (Can I have more!?)
Favorite food: Pannenkoeken, vanilla vla(AWESOME DUTCH FOOD!!!)
Favorite color: (light) blue
Favorite song: Jai Ho- The Pussycat Dolls- A.R. Rahman!, Waka Waka- Shakira
Favorite quote: 'Let your field hockey stick show your talent' (my dad used to say that before every game for 11 years long)
Who would play you in a movie: Dianna Agron (or at least I want to play her, she is amazing!)
Pregame ritual: Listening to Les Miserables the night before the game, my lucky underwear, same socks (the ones from my aunt), always hit a ball on the goal (and miss it on purpose)
Does your # have any special meaning to you?: In The Netherlands, my number was 14 which was the number of Johan Cruijff as well (for the soccer fan)
Any famous family members?: No
Any hidden talents?: Making the ugliest faces
Anything else you want to add: I start singing during the game or practice when it goes well and when I am very tired after a game or late at night I start talking...(which is weird haha)
