
Men's Tennis Drops Match to Iowa, 5-2

EAST LANSING, Mich. - The Michigan State men's tennis team fell to Iowa, 5-2, on Saturday, March 27, at the MSU Indoor Tennis Facility. The loss leaves the Spartans at 11-6 on the 2010 season.
Iowa started out strong by attaining the doubles point. The Spartan doubles pairing of sophomore Austin Brooks (Houston, Texas) and junior John Stratton (Monroeville, N.J.) fought hard at the No. 1 spot, but ultimately fell to Will Vasos and Tommy McGeorge by a close, 9-7, margin.
Sophomore Ronnie Hulewicz defeated Nikita Zotov at No. 2 singles, 6-4, 6-3, while freshman Denis Bogatov (Gurnee, Ill.) topped Reinoud Haal at the No. 3 position, 6-4, 6-2.
The Spartans next host Minnesota on Sunday, March 28, at the MSU Indoor Tennis Facility at 12 p.m.
