Aisha Jefferson's 34 points was a career high. She topped her previous high of 20 in the first half.
The 34 points ties for the third most in a game in MSU history and is the most since Maxann Reese scored a program record 41 points against Iowa on Jan, 29, 1999.
Jefferson is also now fourth on the single-game list in field goals made (14) and attempted (28).
It was Jefferson's fifth career double-double and her first since Feb. 11, 2007 against Purdue.
Kalisha Keane tied a career-high with four steals, a feat she has accomplished on six other occasions.
The Spartans' 82.4 free throw percentage (14-of-17) was a season-high.
MSU's 72 points scored was the most allowed by Notre Dame this season and the Spartans' 42.4 field goal percentage ties the previous high mark.
Michigan State outscored Notre Dame, 32-28 in the paint. MSU has had more points in the paint than their opposition in each of the seven games.
The Spartans held a 48-32 edge on the boards.
MSU allowed four players in double-figures, having only had five opponents top 10 points in the first six games.
