Michigan State Women’s Basketball Announces 2026-27 Schedule

EAST LANSING, Mich. - Michigan State women's basketball head coach Robyn Fralick announced the 2026-27 schedule on Wednesday in conjunction with the Big Ten Conference. Once again, the Spartans' women's basketball season is presented by MSUFCU.
Michigan State will play 17 games at the friendly confines of the Breslin Center, beginning with an exhibition against Michigan Tech on Oct. 28. Last season, MSU was 11-4 at home.
For the sixth-straight season, the Big Ten Conference will play an 18-game schedule. MSU also played an 18-game schedule in both 2018-19 and 2019-20. The conference additionally had 18-game schedules in both 2015-16 and 2014-15.
The Spartans will face a maximum of 13 opponents that competed in the NCAA Tournament last season, as MSU will possibly playing Virginia Tech in the Emerald Coast Classic. From the Big Ten portion of the schedule, Illinois, Iowa, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, Nebraska, Ohio State, Oregon, UCLA, USC and Washington reached the NCAA Tournament. The Bruins are the defending NCAA Champions. MSU will also take on Gonzaga at the Acrisure Classic Series in Palm, Springs, California.
Michigan State will play three of the of its first five games at the Breslin Center, opening the season against Valparaiso on Nov. 3. The Spartans quickly hit the road to take on Toledo on Nov. 7, before returning home to face in-state foe Oakland on Nov. 11. On Nov. 15, Michigan State will travel to Harvard, who the Spartans faced in the first round of the NCAA Tournament during the 2024-25 season. MSU will have home games against Sacred Heart (Nov. 19) and Eastern Michigan (Nov. 29).
Over the Thanksgiving break, MSU will take on Alcorn State on Nov. 23 to open the Emerald Coast Classic in Niceville, Florida. MSU will end the tournament against either UT Martin or Virginia Tech on Nov. 24.
As the calendar changes to December, the Spartans will start the month with four-straight home games. MSU will take on Maine (Dec. 3), before facing Penn State (Dec. 6) for the Big Ten opener. On Dec. 9, the Spartans will face Milwaukee, before taking on DePaul for the third-straight season. In a unique experience, the MSU men's and women's teams will both battle Gonzaga on Dec. 19 in the Acrisure Classic Series in Palm Springs. The Green and White close out December at Michigan on Dec. 29 after the holiday break.
To begin the 2027 portion of the season, the Spartans will battle Iowa on New Year's day in East Lansing. MSU will then play two-straight road games at Northwestern (Jan. 7) and Nebraska (Jan. 10). Michigan State hosts Oregon on Jan. 13, before traveling to Illinois on Jan. 17. The Green and White end the month with a pair of home games against Washington (Jan. 20) and Indiana (Jan. 24). The Spartans then begin a treacherous three-game road swing at Rutgers (Jan. 28).
The trip continues in February with road trips to national powerhouses Maryland (Feb. 1) and Ohio State (Feb. 7). Michigan State returns to East Lansing for a pair of games against Purdue on Feb. 11 and Minnesota for a Valentine's Day battle. The Spartans head West to take on USC (Feb. 18) and UCLA (Feb. 21). MSU rounds out the regular season at the Breslin Center against Wisconsin (Feb. 25) and Michigan (Feb. 28).
Michigan State's regular-season finale will be against Ohio State on March 1. The 34th Big Ten Women's Basketball Tournament will head to T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada March 3-7.
