The win was the 100th in seniors Myisha Bannister, Katrina Grantham, Rene Haynes and Victoria Lucas-Perry's careers ... The quartet has lost just 29 times in a Green and White uniform.
The win was the Spartans' second straight against a ranked opponent and the 27th for head coach Joanne P. McCallie in her seven years as head coach at Michigan State.
The Spartans are riding a season-high six-game winning streak ... The team has also posted two five-game winning streaks.
Michigan State snapped a 17-game Ohio State winning streak, a 30-game Ohio State win streak against Big Ten opponents and a 27-game Ohio State win streak at home.

Michigan State moved into sixth place on the Big Ten's single-season blocks chart ... After finishing last in the Big Ten last year, the team has swatted a program-record 168 this year, which is just 16 shy of the Big Ten record set by Penn State in 2001-02.
Aisha Jefferson scored 12 points, marking the sixth game in a row that the sophomore reached double figures ... Jefferson has averaged 13.7 points and 5.7 rebounds during the stretch.
Haynes connected on a season-high seven free throws in eight attempts ... She also helped the Spartans improve to 48-3 when she scores 10 or more points, finishing with 11.
Lucas-Perry finished with seven rebounds, marking the 18th time this season the guard has had more than five rebounds ... Fellow guard Mia Johnson finished with six rebounds,11th time she has recorded five or more.
The last time the Spartans beat an opponent ranked as high as fifth in the nation was when they downed Tennessee (No. 3/3) in the national semifinals, 68-64, on April 3, 2005.
