MSU Coach Joanne P. McCallie:
Opening statement:
"That was a good game for a lot of reasons. The thing that stood out to me was the rebounding advantage. The fact that we went to the free throw line a little more than we have been is important. I thought there was tremendous leadership from Victoria (Lucas-Perry), Rene (Haynes), Lindsay (Bowen), Liz (Shimek) - really that whole first group of kids were really dictating the play on the floor. Obviously it was a great start. The ball pressure - when you have that type of ball pressure and that kind of rebounding only good things can happen. That was great for our team. It was great for us to learn from, grow from and get ready for Sunday."
On the fast start:
"We have a lot of talented kids that can do great things and I just thought there was a lot of ball movement and attacking. The whole game was attack. Our team is explosive and they have been explosive in a lot of different ways, but this time is was a dictating explosive. They were just playing and this is the time of year to `Just play'."
On Aisha Jefferson's play:
"Aisha Jefferson is a very interesting freshman. Extraordinary really - she listens. You tell her to rebound, she goes and rebounds. You tell her that she is also a scorer, and she goes and scores. I can't say enough about her. She is a phenomenal student-athlete. She is a kid that has the biggest heart that you ever saw. She is a kid that cares more than anybody about being a Spartan and that shows in her game. There is nothing surprising about her stat line. She can flat out play and she is aggressive and she goes up right now with one arm and a little bit and gets nine rebounds."
