MSU Head Coach Rick Comley
On the overall game...
"It was the kind of game we thought we were going to get from them coming in, and Notre Dame head coach Jeff Jackson has had trouble getting offense out of his team. Then Vicari made some good saves for us on some good chances for them."
On Vicari's play...
"He won. He made some really good saves, and I'm sure he was nervous. I think he got a little bit tired at the end, but he was nervous more than anything, and this was a big win for him."
On the attitude of the team when Notre Dame tied the game at one...
"We were okay. Every game we play in is close like this. I was kind of shocked the game didn't go into overtime. The fact that we came back and got that quick goal and then scored again helped, and I didn't think when we went up 3-1 that they were going to catch us."
Freshman forward Tim Kennedy
On the contribution of Tim Crowder, Justin Abdelkader, and himself...
"I think at the beginning of the year, our line was supposed to go out and hit and bang, and just score every now and then. Now, we're playing better, and the team looks for us to go out and have at least one goal every night. I think that's a big step for the three of us, and we just need to go out and continue doing so for the rest of the year."
On how the victory impacts the series finale...
"We're in the stretch run of the season, and right now every win, every point, is huge. For us to get two points here tonight and have the chance to go back home tomorrow night and close out the series - we have a good record at home, so we should come out strong tomorrow night."
On how important it is to score first...
"We play with much more confidence on the road when we score first. Just getting that first goal was huge."
Junior goaltender Dominic Vicari
On getting the starting nod for Friday night's game...
"It's been a while, but it felt good to get back in net. I felt pretty confident. I played two good, solid periods. The second goal was a garbage goal, but it got me right on the toe and went right in, and there's nothing you can do about it."
On the win...
"This is a big win for us. Every point is big from here on out. The season is winding down, and we just need to get as many points as we can. The two points tonight were big points for us."
Freshman forward Tim Crowder
On the performance of the freshman line (Crowder, Abdelkader, Kennedy)...
"We just worked our hardest out there - the whole team did - and luckily our line just happened to get good shots and some pucks went in the net for us."
On his power-play goal...
"Justin Abdelkader just passed the puck to me from the corner, and I just walked up and gave it to David Booth. Booth gave it back to me and I just walked to the middle and shot on net. I was a little surprised it went in, but that's why you just throw the puck at the net."
On Notre Dame...
"They came out hard, and they worked hard all night long. They're probably going to do the same tomorrow night, so we better expect them to come out hard and come out ready to play ourselves."
