Opening Statement...
"Interesting game. I thought Illinois played very hard. I am very proud of our team, of our exposure particularly down the stretch. I though Liz (Shimek) had a very good game, worked hard the entire game. I thought Lindsay (Bowen) and Kristin (Haynie) were very composed down the stretch. I think things definitely could have been better and we definitely could have played better, but there was some good luck in the game for us and I am proud of the team for their effort."
Illinois's athleticism compared to Texas A&M-Corpus Christi...
"Illinois was much bigger. They were quick like Corpus Christi, but much taller and bigger builds. Angelina (Williams) is a fantastic player and so are the rest of their seniors. They have been around the block and play with a lot of composure. We tried to stop them, but we did a better job at their place then we did here and that is what made the game."
Liz Shimek
On Illinois coming back within two...
"We just stayed together and really focused on what we needed to do. We needed to get some stops and start attacking on offense more. That is really all we needed to do.
"It was all on us. We let No. 33 (Angelina Williams) get into the paint too far. We didn't shut her down or take the initiative to shut her down. They really didn't do anything different, it was just a matter of us."
Lindsay Bowen
On upcoming road games...
"I think every game is different and we have to focus for each and every game. It's going to be a tough road swing. I guess we will have to focus about going into tough environments and playing in there. I think it is really just a focus on defense. If we can shut teams down, I think our offense can come. But right now we are just working hard and getting ready."
