Two Spartans Earn All-Big Ten Field Hockey Honors

East Lansing, Mich. - Senior Adrienne Miroslaw (Sr., Dallas, Pa.) and junior Bridget Cooper (Jr., Winnetka, Ill.) earned All-Big Ten second-team honors at the Big Ten Awards banquet on Thursday, Nov. 2 in Ann Arbor. This is the first time that either player has made the All-Big Ten team.
Miroslaw, a midfielder, started in 17 games and had four points this season for the Spartans. During conference play, she started all six games and had two assists.
Cooper, a forward, played in all 20 games and led the team with 31 points and 12 goals. Her 31 points were 10th best in a single season at MSU and her 12 goals were 11th best. Her seven assists were also a career high. In Big Ten play, Cooper finished fourth in the league in scoring with 11 points. On Oct. 29 against conference foe Indiana, Cooper recorded her second career hat trick, scoring three goals and one assist for a career-high seven points.
Senior Traci Anselso from Penn State was named Big Ten Athlete and Defensive Player of the Year. Kelli Gannon, a senior midfielder from Michigan, was awarded the Offensive Player of the Year, while Kristi Gannon from Michigan was named Freshman of the Year. Michigan's Marcia Pankratz earned Head Coach of the Year honors.
