Volunteer Assistant Thomas Calderone is in his first year at Michigan State.
Calderone comes from a tennis family. His father, Craig, and mother, Peggy Calderone, were both tennis coaches. During his time at Lumen Christi high school, the 2009 graduate was named Division 4 All-State as a junior and senior, as well as being the 2008 Jackson Citizen Patriot Player of the Year.
Furthering his career, Calderone played collegiate tennis at Western Michigan University during his freshman and sophomore year. After transferring to Spring Arbor University to finish up his undergraduate degree in Finance, he played number one singles and doubles for the SAU cougars. His accomplishments there included being ranked in doubles as high as 6th in the nation in NAIA, winning ITA-NAIA Midwest Regionals in doubles with his partner Aaron Mayes and being elected NCCAA Men's Tennis All-American First team his junior and senior year.
Currently residing in Grass Lake, Michigan, Calderone returned from living in Eschwege, Germany for a year as a private tennis coach to a German Family. He enjoys teaching tennis classes in his free time during the summer.
