PRIOR TO MSU: Played four seasons at Case Western Reserve University, also the Spartans ... Was a two-time CSC Academic All-America honoree and also a two-time CSC Academic All-District Team honoree ... Finished his career at CWRU as the Spartans’ career leader in strikeouts per nine innings (11.62), while ranking second in opponent batting average (.190), saves (15), and appearances (57), third in ERA (3.03) and tied for sixth in strikeouts (161) ... Helped lead the Spartans to a 33-11 overall record last season, matching the second-most victories in a season in program history ... CWRU won the UAA Championship for the fifth time in program history and earned its seventh NCAA Championship berth, reaching the finals of the regional round ... SOPHOMORE (2022): Became the sixth player and first relief pitcher in program history to be named an All-American, earning a spot on the D3baseball.com Second Team … Was also selected to the D3Baseball.com All-Region Second Team and the ABCA All-Region Third Team … Named the UAA Co-Pitcher of the Year with teammate Evan Faxon, and claimed a spot on the All-UAA First Team … Appeared in 18 games in relief during the season, going 3-1 with a 1.50 ERA and six saves (the fourth-most in a single season in program history) … Struck out 48 batters and walked just 15 through 36.0 innings of work … Allowed just 16 hits, with just four going for extra bases (two doubles and two home runs) for a .131 opponents’ average … Held right-handed batters to a .121 average, and all opposing hitters to a .097 mark (seven-for-72) with the bases empty … Did not allow an earned run in 14 of his 18 appearances … Twelve of his appearances were for more than one innings … Appeared in eight UAA games, going 3-0 with three saves and a 0.63 ERA, while striking out 19 batters and walking just three in 14.1 innings … Struck out a season-high six batters and allowed just two hits over four innings to earn the win against Wash U. on April 24 … Received UAA Spring All-Academic Honors.
