Spartan Men’s Tennis Sends Four Individuals To Begin Fall Season At The ITA All-American Championships

MSU’s Alazmeh, Rakhmatullayev, Sheldon, and Andrzejewski will travel to Tulsa, Oklahoma, to start tournament play.

EAST LANSING, MICH. -- Michigan State men's tennis will be sending four Spartans to compete in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) All-American Championships set in Tulsa, Oklahoma from September 19-27.

Senior Taym Alazmeh will lead the Green & White, joined by juniors Danial Rakhmatullayev and Mitchell Sheldon, and sophomore Piotr Andrzejewski. The four will look to make a statement in the Pre-Qualifying round of the ITA All-American Champions set on Saturday-Sunday, September 19-20.

Alazmeh enters his fourth season with the Spartans. In his junior year he recorded 16 singles wins and racked up 19 doubles wins. The Damascus, Syria native peaked at No. 14 in the ITA doubles rankings.

Rakhmatullayev enters his third season for the Green & White. The Aktau, Kazakhstan native finished his sophomore season with 16 victories in singles, and 18 victories in his doubles season.

Sheldon enters his junior year for MSU. The Arlington Heights, Illinois native won 21 singles matches with 17 doubles wins in his sophomore season, while reaching No. 30 in the ITA doubles rankings.

Andrzejewski enters his first year with Michigan State. The Tulane transfer and Chicago, Illinois native posted 13 victories in singles play, with four victories in doubles as a freshman.

Following the ITA All-American Championships, the Spartans will travel to San Francisco, California to compete in the Battle In The Bay tournament from October 1-4.
