EAST LANSING, Mich. – Three Michigan State hockey student-athletes have been tabbed to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District squads, honoring their achievements in the classroom this past season. Trey Augustine, Matt Basgall and Tommi Mannisto received the honor on Tuesday, with Augustine and Basgall advancing to the Academic All-America ballot for the second consecutive season.
To be eligible, student-athletes must be at least a sophomore boasting a 3.50 cumulative grade-point average. Eligible hockey athletes must compete in 90 percent of their institution's contests or start in 66 percent of games. Goalies must start in at least 50 percent of a season's games.
Part of the CSC At-Large program, men's hockey is among the 10 NCAA sponsored sports where institutions can nominate a maximum of six male athletes.
Basgall concludes his collegiate career as a three-time Academic All-District selection. A kinesiology major, Basgall was previously named a CSC At-Large Third Team Academic All-American in 2025.
Augustine finishes his time in East Lansing as a two-time Academic All-District selection. A finance major, Augustine was chosen as a CSC At-Large First Team Academic All-American in 2025. Augustine is one of only two players in program history to be named a First Team All-American on the ice, and a First Team Academic All-American off the ice joining Ron Scott.
A rising senior, this is Mannisto's second career CSC Academic All-District selection. Mannisto, an advertising management major, posted a career-best 21 points on a career-high 12 goals during his junior campaign in 2025-26.
