Men’s Golf Ties for 12th Place at Big Ten Championships

EAST LANSING, Mich. – Michigan State's men's golf team shot a 3-over par 283 in the final round and finished in a tie for 12th place among 18 teams at the Big Ten Championships, held at Pumpkin Ridge Golf Club (Witch Hollow) in North Plains, Ore.
The Spartans had two strong rounds on Saturday and Sunday after opening with an 18-over par 298 on Friday and were as high as fifth place in the final round before tying for 12th place overall at 22-over par 862 (298-281-283).
UCLA captured the team title at 8-under par 832 (281-269-282), four shots ahead of second-place Illinois at 4-under par 836 (279-286-271). Washington finished in third place at 2-over par 842 (281-280-281), with Rutgers fourth (10-over par 850) and
Southern California rounded out the top-five teams (14-over par 854).
Junior McCoy Biagioli was the top finisher for the Spartans, tying for 20th place at 3-over par 213 (73-69-71), closing with a 1-over par 71 on Sunday.
Senior Caleb Bond tied for 29th place at 5-over par 215 (74-70-71) and freshman Luke Mueller tied for 34th place at 6-over par 216 (73-72-71).
Senior Ashton McCulloch had the team's best round of the day at even-par 70 and tied for 47th place at 8-over par 218 (78-70-70).
Junior Lucas Acevedo shot a 1-over par 71 and finished the final two rounds with a final score of 3-over par 143.
