EAST LANSING, Mich. – Michigan State's men's golf team completed the first day of play at the Big Ten Championships on Friday at Pumpkin Ridge Golf Club (Witch Hollow) in North Plains, Ore.

The Spartans are in 18th place among 18 teams at 18-over par 298.

Illinois leads the field at 1-under par 279, with UCLA and Washington tied for second at 1-over par 281, Nebraska fourth at 4-over par 284 and Minnesota and Northwestern tied for fifth place (5-over par 285).

Freshman Luke Mueller and junior McCoy Biagioli are tied for 41st place with scores of 3-over par 73, respectively, to lead the Spartans.

Senior Caleb Bond shot a 4-over par 74 and is tied for 57th place, senior Ashton McCulloch shot an 8-over par 78 and is tied for 82nd place and junior Lorenzo Pinili is in 89th place at 12-over par 82.

The Spartans tee off at 1:30 p.m. (ET) from the 10th hole, playing alongside Nebraska and Iowa.
