Men’s Golf Ties for Eighth Place at the Robert Kepler Invitational

EAST LANSING, Mich. – Michigan State's men's golf team shot a 1-under par 287 in Sunday's final round and finished in a tie for seventh place among 16 teams at the Robert Kepler Invitational, played at Columbus Country Club in Ohio.
The Spartans, who posted the second-best score in the field during Saturday's second round at 6-under par 282, finished with a two-day, 54-hole score of 2-under par 862 (293-282-287).
Minnesota captured the team title at 31-under par 833 (280-278-275). Host Ohio State finished in second place at 22-under par 842, with Miami of Ohio in third place at 14-under 850, St. Thomas (Minn.) in fourth place at 11-under par 853 and Abilene Christian rounded out the top-five at 10-under par 854.
Senior Caleb Bond shot a 5-under par 211 (72-70-69) to tie for ninth place to lead the Spartans. He closed with a 3-under par 69 in Sunday's final round. This was the fourth time this year Bond has been the top finisher for the team and it was his fourth top-10 showing.
Senior Ashton McCulloch, who fired a 5-under par 67 in the second round on Saturday afternoon, tied for 14th place at 4-under par 212 (72-67-73). McCulloch's tied for 14th was his third-straight top-20 finish in the spring.
Freshman Luke Mueller, playing in his first collegiate tournament, tied for 53rd place at 3-over par 219 (76-71-72) and sophomore Julian Menser tied for 56th place at 4-over par 220 (73-74-73).
Junior Lorenzo Pinili had his best round of the tournament in Sunday's final round at 1-over par 73 and tied for 72nd place at 9-over par 225 (76-76-73).
Michigan State closes out the regular season on Monday, April 20, playing in the Muirfield Shootout at the Country Club of Muirfield in Dublin, Ohio.
