Women’s Golf Opens Play in Clemson Invitational on Friday

East Lansing, Mich. – Michigan State's women's golf team begins play in the Clemson Invitational on Friday, March 27 at the Reserve at Lake Keowee in John's Island, S.C.
The three-day, 54-hole tournament will be played on the par-72, 6,386-yard course and teams will play 18 holes each day. Eleven of the teams the field are ranked among the top-50 teams in the country.
The Spartans tee off on Friday on the first hole at 10 a.m., playing alongside the College of Charleston, Florida and Ohio State.

In addition to host Clemson (44), the 15-team field includes the Arkansas (8), College of Charleston, Florida (4), Kent State (27), Miami (Fla.), LSU (30), Maryland, Michigan State (43), Ole Miss (18), Ohio State (39), UNC Wilmington, Princeton, Tennessee (20), Vanderbilt (15) and Virginia Tech (38).

Michigan State is making its ninth appearance at the Clemson Invitational, including four times in the last five years … MSU finished in 11th place last year, shooting a 1-under par 863 … Paula Balanzategui shot a 3-under par 213 and tied for 29th place to lead the team … The Spartans finished in fifth place in 2024, led by Katie Lu, who tied for 10th place at 2-under par 214 (71-71-72) … MSU's best finish at Clemson was a runner-up showing in 2018.
