Two Former Spartans Earn Selection to Golf Hall of Fames

East Lansing, Mich. – Former Michigan State women's golfers Stacy Snider and Allison (Fouch) Duncan earned selections into state golf Hall of Fames recently.
Snider was selected to the Grand Rapids Sports Hall of Fame, while Duncan will be inducted into the Michigan Golf Hall of Game.
The Grand Rapids Hall of ceremony will be held on Monday, Sept. 14 at Van Andel Arena. The Michigan Golf Hall of Fame ceremony will be held on Sunday, Oct. 25 at Ferris State University's Katke Golf Course in the Ken Janke Sr. Golf Learning Center.
Snider, who started scholastically at Grandville High School and was the state's Miss Golf recipient in 1997 and 1998, was a two-time All-Big Ten selection in 2001 and 2002 and is the only woman to have ever won the Michigan Tournament of Champions. She ranked seventh all-time in career scoring average at the time of her graduation. Snider competed on the LPGA Golf Tour from 2004 to 2006 and went on to coach on the college level, with stops at Ohio State, Western Michigan and the University of Davenport.
Snider is one of two Spartans who will be inducted into the Grand Rapids Sports Hall of Fame, joined by former Spartan All-American and Academic All-American Drew Neitzel.
Duncan will join her college coach, current MSU Head Coach Stacy Slobodnik-Stoll, in the Michigan Golf Hall of Fame. At MSU, she was a three-time tournament winner, three-time All-Big Ten selection, honorable mention All-American in 2004 and two-time All-American scholar. In 2002, she was part of a Big Ten title team and was a member of the victorious Team USA at the Women's World University Golf Championship where she also placed second individually.
Following her graduation, she played professionally for nine years, including six on the LPGA Tour. Duncan had 10 top-10 finishes and two wins on the LPGA's Symetra Tour in 2007 and then played six seasons on the LPGA Tour where in 2008 she was ranked among the top 50 golfers and recorded her top LPGA finish, a tie for second. The 2009 Michigan Women's Open winner also served three years on the LPGA Board of Directors, elected by her tour-playing peers.
