MSU Women’s Golf Finishes in 28th Place at NCAA Championships

Senior Taylor Kehoe Advances to Final Round to Compete for Individual Title
East Lansing, Mich. – Michigan State's women's golf team shot a 12-over par 300 in the third round and finished in 28th place at the NCAA National Championships, being played at the Omni La Costa Resort & Spa in Carlsbad, Calif.
The Spartans finished with a three-day total of 31-over par 895 (298-297-300).
The top-15 teams and nine individuals (not on advancing teams) after three rounds of stroke play qualifying advance to play a final 18 holes on Monday, May 25 to determine the individual champion and the top eight teams will advance to match play.
While the Spartans did not advance to the final round of stroke play as a team, senior Taylor Kehoe is tied for 25th place and advanced to the final round as one of the top nine individuals not on an advancing team. This is the third time in the last four years a Spartan golfer has advanced to play in the final round of stroke play, joining Katie Lu (2023, 2024) and Leila Raines (2024).
Stanford stands atop the leaderboard at 21-under par 843, with Southern California in second place (16-under par 848), Oklahoma State in third place (10-under par 854), Texas in fourth (6-under par 858), with Iowa State and Arkansas tied for fifth place (3-under par 861).
Kehoe has been the leader for the Spartans all weekend and is tied for 25th place at 1-under par 215 (70-73-72). She shot an even-par 72 in the third round, including four birdies on the back nine.
Freshman Sarisa Pojanalai tied for 83rd place at 6-over par 222 (72-72-78). After back-to-back rounds of even-par 72 on Friday and Saturday, Pojanalai closed with a 6-over par 78 on Sunday.
Junior Ana Sofia Murcia and freshman Lucia Valderrama tied for 144th place with scores of 16-over par 232, respectively. Murcia shot a 4-over par 76 on Sunday to close out her 16-over par 232 (79-77-76). Valderrama had the team's second-best round of the day at 2-over par 74 to finish at 16-over par 232 (83-75-74).
Sophomore Grace Vetter finished the third round at 8-over par 80 and finished in 149th place at 18-over par 234 (77-77-80).
After finishing in a tie for fourth place at the NCAA Chapel Hill Regional last week, the Spartans were making their fourth-straight NCAA Championships appearance, the fifth in the last six years and the 16th under Head Coach Stacy Slobodnik-Stoll. Michigan State played in the NCAA Championships for the 18th time in program history.
